The temple will be celebrating Maha Shivratri on Friday February 24, 2017.
Join us for moments of chanting and worshipping of Lord Shiva as we celebrate the Maha Shivratri festival, also known as the “The Great Night of Lord Shiva.” Shiva is the God of yoga and meditation, the deity of dance, the destroyer and transformer, and one of the Divine beings in the Hindu Trinity.
Please find below the tentative program for Maha Shivaratri celebration.
First Pooja – 6:30 PM (Friday) followed by Shiva Bhajans
Second Pooja – 9:30 PM (Friday)
Third Pooja – 12:00 Midnight
Last Pooja – 4:00 AM (Saturday)
Suggested sponsorship is $51 per family for the poojas - which may be paid by cash or cheque to “Hindu Samaj of Southern Saskatchewan”.

Although everything needed for the pooja will be provided, devotees may wish to bring some fresh/dry fruits or any fasting related food items. Devotees are kindly requested to bring the Shiv Linga if you have one. Please arrive 15 minutes early for the preparations of the pooja. All are welcome to attend the festival. The last pooja will only take if enough devotees sign up for this part.
